Radio.co Alternatives & Pricing in 2026: Honest Comparison for Every Budget
Disclosure: RadioSiteMaker and RadioHost Studio are our own products. Method: prices checked on each vendor's own page on 5 November 2026; we list where competitors are the better fit.
Radio.co costs $35[1] a month on Lite, $59[2] on Standard, $139[3] on Plus and $199[4] on Premium, and music licensing is not included on any plan (No[5]). Every plan also has a published listener and bandwidth allowance, so the right comparison is not "cheapest plan" but "which plan covers my audience". Before you compare anything, decide which part of Radio.co you actually want to replace.
What Are You Replacing?
Radio.co is several products in one bill: the stream host, the browser playout and scheduling, optional apps and an Alexa skill, and an optional Weebly-powered website builder. Most people looking for an alternative only want to change one of those.
- Only the website — keep your Radio.co stream and change what listeners see. That is a website decision, not a hosting one.
- The automation and stream — you want playout, scheduling and live shows somewhere else.
- Everything — usually because of price, or because the plan you need for your audience costs more than you want to pay.
- Nothing, really — if your audience needs Radio.co's higher listener limits, staying may be right. See when staying is the better choice.
Radio.co Pricing at a Glance
All figures are from Radio.co's pricing page. Annual prices are what Radio.co shows on its annual toggle.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Storage | Concurrent listeners | Bandwidth | Max bitrate | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $35 | $350[6] | 2 GB[7] | 500 listeners[8] | 1TB/month (~18,000 listening hours)[9] | 192 kbps[10] | 2 users[11] |
| Standard | $59 | $590[12] | 20 GB[13] | 20,000 listeners[14] | 20TB/month (~360,000 listening hours)[15] | 192 kbps[16] | 20 users[17] |
| Plus | $139 | $1,390[18] | 75 GB[19] | 500,000 listeners[20] | 50TB/month (~875,000 listening hours)[21] | 192 kbps[22] | 50 users[23] |
| Premium | $199 | $1,990[24] | 300 GB[25] | Unlimited[26] | 75TB/month (~1.3m listening hours)[27] | 320 kbps[28] | Unlimited[29] |
Add-ons Radio.co lists on its plans:
- Website Builder: $12[30] a month — Powered by Weebly; two builder plans: Standard and Plus[31].
- iOS and Android apps: $35[32] a month on Lite and Standard; included on Plus and Premium (Yes[33]). Apps require a Radio.co-hosted station (Yes[34]).
- Alexa skill: $10[35] a month.
- EDGE audio processor: $20[36] a month.
Two things to read from that table. Every plan has a bandwidth allowance as well as a listener limit, so a station with a big daily audience should check both. And the Standard plan also includes 1,500 credits[37] of AI voice credits a month, which none of the alternatives below match like for like.
Three Scenarios, Worked Out
These are reproducible: every input is a cited fact or one of our own published prices (RadioSiteMaker $99 a year + tax; RadioHost Studio $199 a year + tax). Totals are our calculation, annual to annual, before tax. Radio.co does not state tax on its page.
Scenario 1: website only, keep the Radio.co stream
You are happy with Radio.co's playout and only want a better station website.
| Radio.co Website Builder | RadioSiteMaker | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $12/month | $99/year + tax |
| Per year (our calculation) | $144 | $99 |
| What it is | General drag-and-drop builder (Weebly) with the Radio.co player embedded | Radio station template: persistent player, schedule grid, show and DJ pages, podcasts, events, charts, donations links |
| Now playing | Radio.co player | Read from Radio.co's public status feed automatically |
This is a website-to-website comparison: the Radio.co stream bill stays the same in both columns. The Weebly builder is more flexible for general pages; RadioSiteMaker gives you the radio pages without building them. Our Radio.co integration page shows how the player connects.
Scenario 2: a new website plus 24/7 automation
You are starting out, or leaving Radio.co entirely, and want playout, scheduling, a stream and a website.
| Radio.co Lite + Website Builder | RadioSiteMaker + RadioHost Studio | |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting and automation | $350/year (Lite, annual) | $199/year + tax (Studio) |
| Website | $144/year (Builder, $12 × 12) | $99/year + tax |
| Total per year (our calculation) | $494 | $298 |
| Concurrent listeners | 500 listeners | 500 |
| Listening allowance | 1TB/month (~18,000 listening hours) | 30,000 listening hours/month |
| Storage | 2 GB | 10 GB (Studio) + 10 GB (website) |
| Max bitrate | 192 kbps | 192 kbps |
| Seats | 2 users | 5 external DJ seats, 10 Live Studio deejays |
The website and Studio are separate subscriptions: you can take one without the other. They are also not a copy of Radio.co. Concretely, Studio has clockwheels, a week schedule, voice tracking, AutoDJ, a browser mixer for live shows (Live Studio), relays, ad campaigns with proof-of-play and a SoundExchange CSV export. It does not have Radio.co's AI voice credits, its EDGE processor, or bundled iOS/Android apps — our app service is a separate one-time build (see station mobile apps).
Scenario 3: you need capacity the suite does not offer
Your audience regularly passes 500 simultaneous listeners, you burn more than 30,000 listening hours a month, or you want a 320 kbps stream.
RadioHost Studio's single Station plan stops at those limits, so it is the wrong tool here. Stay on Radio.co, or pick a host built for that scale. Radio.co Standard allows 20,000 listeners with 20TB/month (~360,000 listening hours) for $590 a year; Premium is the Radio.co plan with 320 kbps. Among the alternatives, RadioKing Pro allows 150,000 hours/month[38] and Zeno.FM Prime lists Unlimited[39] listeners.
The only part we can still offer is the website: Radio.co Standard annual plus RadioSiteMaker is $689 a year, against $734 with Radio.co's own builder (our calculation). That is a small difference; choose on which website you would rather run.
Why People Look for Radio.co Alternatives
Price at the plan their audience needs. The listener and bandwidth allowance, not the feature list, usually decides the plan.
Storage. Lite has 2 GB — tight for a music library. Standard raises it to 20 GB.
Licensing. Radio.co leaves SoundExchange and performing-rights licences to you. Live365 bundles licensing in some territories, which changes the comparison. Our licensing guide explains what you would be taking on.
Owning the stack. Some operators prefer software they run themselves.
Quick Comparison
| Platform | Entry price | Licensing included? | What stands out |
|---|---|---|---|
| Radio.co | $35/mo | No | Polished interface, large listener allowances from Standard |
| RadioKing | $19 / 14€ / £14[40]/mo | No | Lower prices; unlimited simultaneous listeners from Start, capped by listening hours |
| Live365 | $65[41]/mo with ads | US, Canada, Mexico[42] | Licensing bundled |
| AzuraCast | Free software + your server | No | Full control |
| Caster.fm | Free plan | No | Zero-cost entry |
| Zeno.FM | $60[43]/mo (Prime) | No | Free plan ended: Discontinued January 2025[44] |
Alternative 1: RadioKing
Price: from $19 / 14€ / £14 a month (Discover) to $119 / 99€ / £99[45] (Business). Pro is $64 / 54€ / £54[46].
RadioKing is Radio.co's closest like-for-like competitor: cloud playout, scheduling and statistics. From the Start plan it lists Unlimited[47] simultaneous listeners, but every plan has a listening-hour allowance — 20,000 hours/month[48] on Start and 150,000 hours/month on Pro. Storage is 10 GB[49] on Start and 25 GB[50] on Pro.
Best for: stations that want the cloud-platform model at a lower monthly price. More in our RadioKing alternatives guide.
Alternative 2: Live365
Price: Broadcast 1 is $65 a month with ads or $89[51] with Ad Control, effective 2026-09-01 (applies at first renewal on or after that date)[52]. It includes 1,500 hours/month[53] and 50 GB[54]; extra hours cost 0.07 USD per listening hour[55].
The difference that matters is licensing: Live365 covers webcasts to listeners in US, Canada, Mexico, with UK coverage as an add-on from $17.99[56] a month. If you would otherwise license music yourself, that can outweigh the lower listening-hour allowance. Full breakdown in our Live365 alternatives guide.
Best for: music stations whose audience is in the covered territories.
Alternative 3: AzuraCast (self-hosted)
Price: free, open-source software; you pay for a Linux server.
AzuraCast replaces the streaming server, web-based AutoDJ, scheduling and listener statistics with software you run yourself. You install it with Docker and own updates, backups and uptime. Limits are whatever your server can carry.
Best for: technically confident operators. Live shows still need a separate source client — see our broadcasting software guide.
Alternative 4: Caster.fm and Zeno.FM
Caster.fm still has a free plan (Yes[57]) with 400 listeners[58] slots; it is supported by ads on your public page and has no AutoDJ, so it suits live-only or hobby stations. Zeno.FM no longer has a free broadcasting plan (Discontinued January 2025); its Prime plan is $60 a month with Unlimited listeners and 1,000,000 listening hours[59].
When Staying on Radio.co Is the Better Choice
- Your audience is large. Standard's 20,000 listeners concurrent listeners is forty times RadioHost Studio's 500.
- You want apps and Alexa under one bill. Plus and Premium include apps; on other platforms these are separate purchases.
- You use the AI voice credits or the EDGE processor. Nothing here is a direct replacement.
- Your team knows the interface. Migration costs a schedule rebuild and retraining; if the bill is not the problem, that time is better spent on programming.
You can stay on Radio.co and still change the website alone (Scenario 1). Test your stream on the web first with the radio stream tester.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cheapest Radio.co alternative?
Among hosted platforms, RadioKing's Discover plan ($19 / 14€ / £14 a month) costs less than Radio.co Lite ($35), but it allows 50 listeners[60] and 150 hours/month[61]. Caster.fm has a free plan without AutoDJ. Self-hosting AzuraCast costs only the server, plus your time.
Does Radio.co have listener or bandwidth limits?
Yes. Every plan lists a concurrent-listener figure and a monthly bandwidth allowance: Lite is 500 listeners and 1TB/month (~18,000 listening hours); Standard is 20,000 listeners and 20TB/month (~360,000 listening hours); only Premium lists unlimited concurrent listeners, with 75TB/month (~1.3m listening hours).
Does any Radio.co alternative include music licensing?
Live365 is the main one: it covers listeners in US, Canada, Mexico, with a paid UK add-on. RadioKing, AzuraCast, Caster.fm and Zeno.FM leave licensing to you, as Radio.co does.
Does Radio.co offer a full website?
Yes, as an add-on: the Website Builder is $12 a month and is powered by Weebly. RadioSiteMaker is an alternative for the website alone, with radio pages (schedule, shows, DJs, podcasts) already built; you can use either with a Radio.co stream.
Can I move from Radio.co without losing my listeners?
Your stream URL changes if you change host, so the risk sits in player links, apps and directory listings. If your website is independent of the stream host, the player change is one setting and your domain stays the same. Our migration guide covers the order of steps.
