5 Best Radio Station Website Builders in 2026

Disclosure: RadioSiteMaker is our own product, and so is RadioHost Studio. Method: prices checked on each vendor's own page on 5 November 2026; we list where competitors are the better fit.

You need a website for your radio station. How you build it decides how much time and money it costs you over the next few years. The options range from purpose-built radio platforms to WordPress themes, generic website builders, the website add-ons your stream host may sell, and hiring a developer. This guide compares them on what each actually includes.

1. RadioSiteMaker — $99/year + tax

Purpose-built for radio. Managed. One plan.

RadioSiteMaker is a managed platform for independent radio stations. You sign up, go through a 10-step setup wizard (name, tagline, theme, typography, stream, logo, sections, social links, contact, preview), and publish. No hosting to configure and no plugins to install. There is a 7-day free trial with no card.

What You Get

The features a station site needs are built in: a player that keeps playing as listeners move between pages, schedule grid, show pages, DJ profiles, podcasts (with RSS import), events, blog, charts, recently played, dedications, song requests (for stations on RadioHost Studio), donation links, polls, chat, contact form, breaking news and an analytics dashboard. There are 10 themes and 17 site languages. A custom domain with SSL is included, and 10 GB of storage, with add-ons if you need more.

Live demo · real RadioSiteMaker template
A RadioSiteMaker home page in the Bold Dark theme. Click play, then open another page in the menu: the player bar keeps the stream running. Demo content.

Strengths

  • Managed. Hosting, updates, security and backups are handled. You manage content, not infrastructure.
  • Radio-specific from day one. Player, schedule, shows and DJs exist before you add a single page.
  • Search basics built in. Station sites carry RadioStation, show, DJ, event and podcast structured data, a per-station sitemap, and canonical URLs on your own domain.
  • Works with your existing stream. Now-playing metadata is read from Icecast, SHOUTcast, AzuraCast, Radio.co, RadioKing, Live365, Caster.fm and more — see integrations.

Limitations

  • Less design freedom than a fully custom site or a page builder. You choose themes, colours, fonts and layouts; you do not move every element freely.
  • No site importer. Moving from another platform means copying your content across; our migration guide covers the order of steps.
  • Website only. Streaming and automation are a separate product (RadioHost Studio), or your existing host.

Best For

Independent, community, school and church stations that want a professional station site fast, without technical overhead.

2. WordPress + Pro.Radio Theme

Powerful and flexible, but you are the IT department.

WordPress has radio-specific themes. Pro.Radio is sold directly on pro.radio at $98 for a single-site licence with a year of support and updates, $196[4] for three sites, and $69 a year to renew support. It is built around Elementor. More in our Pro.Radio alternatives guide.

What You Get

Pro.Radio provides a player, schedule, DJ profiles and events through the theme. For the rest — podcasts, donations, forms, SEO, backups, caching — you add plugins. WordPress is free; you pay for hosting and a domain.

Strengths

  • Flexibility. Plugins and page builders let you customise nearly anything.
  • Mature ecosystem. Documentation, community support and developers are easy to find.
  • Ownership. You hold the files and the database.

Limitations

  • Maintenance. Core, theme and plugin updates are yours to apply and test. A plugin conflict after an update can break a page.
  • Security. You are responsible for hardening, backups and monitoring.
  • Plugin sprawl. Each feature beyond the theme is another plugin, sometimes with its own renewal.
  • The player. Whether audio keeps playing as listeners click between pages depends on how the theme loads pages.

The full cost picture is in our radio station website cost breakdown.

Best For

Tech-comfortable operators who want maximum control and will manage hosting, updates and security.

3. Wix

Easy drag-and-drop builder. No radio-specific features.

A generic builder with templates, a visual editor, hosting, SSL on paid plans, a blog, events and an app marketplace. Check current plan prices on Wix's plans page; we have not verified them for this guide.

Strengths

  • Ease of use. The editor is genuinely intuitive.
  • App marketplace. Booking, email marketing, social feeds.
  • Managed hosting.

Limitations

  • No radio player. You embed a third-party player with HTML. Whether it keeps playing between pages depends on the embed, and usually it does not.
  • No schedule, DJ profiles, charts or dedications. You build these by hand as ordinary pages.

Best For

Talk stations or podcasters who do not need a live player or schedule, and value the editor.

4. Squarespace

Polished design. Same radio gaps as Wix, but podcasts are built in.

Squarespace is known for polished templates, a built-in store and good blogging. Check current plan prices on Squarespace's pricing page; we have not verified them for this guide.

Strengths

  • Design quality. Templates look professional out of the box.
  • Podcasts. Squarespace supports podcasts natively (Supported (blog page + audio block + built-in RSS feed)). Audio blocks accept files up to 160 MB[5], and a podcast feed holds up to 300 episodes[6].
  • E-commerce and events. A solid store for merch; basic event pages.

Limitations

  • No live radio player. Same as Wix: you embed one.
  • No schedule, DJ profiles, charts or dedications.
  • Podcast limits. The upload and feed limits above matter for a station with years of shows.

Best For

Stations where brand image comes first and radio-specific web features are secondary.

5. Custom Development

Full control. Full cost. Full responsibility.

A developer or agency builds exactly what you ask for: design, player, schedule, integrations with your automation or ad server. Price depends entirely on scope and the developer; get several written quotes, and ask what maintenance costs per year after launch.

Strengths

  • Unlimited flexibility and a unique design.
  • Specific integrations with internal systems.
  • Ownership of code and infrastructure.

Limitations

  • Cost and time. Weeks to months before launch.
  • Ongoing dependency. Fixes and updates go through the developer.

Best For

Large stations or groups with budget, in-house technical staff, and requirements no platform meets.

What About Your Stream Host's Website?

Two of the big stream hosts sell full websites, not just profile pages. If you already stream with them, compare these too.

Radio.co Website Builder RadioKing Radio Website RadioSiteMaker
Price $12[7]/month add-on $44 / 39€ / £34[8]/month or $468 / 408€ / £348[9]/year $99/year + tax
Built on Powered by Weebly; two builder plans: Standard and Plus[10] RadioKing's own CMS Radio station templates
Radio features Radio.co player embed Player bar on all pages; podcasts module; show grid (Shows & Hosts); 'What's this track?'; multiple admins; 100 GB monthly traffic; 5 GB storage; external streams allowed[11] Persistent player, schedule, shows, DJs, podcasts, events, blog, charts, dedications
Works with other stream hosts Built for Radio.co stations External streams allowed Any stream URL

Our view: a general builder like Weebly gives you more layout freedom; RadioKing's site has the radio basics; RadioSiteMaker covers more radio pages for a lower annual price and does not tie the site to one stream host. Details in our Radio.co and RadioKing comparisons.

Looking for a DJ Website Builder Rather Than a Station One?

A lot of people arrive here because they are a DJ, not a station. The requirements overlap, but not entirely.

What a DJ site has to do that a station site does not:

  • Carry a mix archive that plays in the page (SoundCloud, Mixcloud or self-hosted audio).
  • Sell you to a promoter in thirty seconds: bio, press photo, rider, logo pack and contact, above the fold.
  • List gigs with venues and ticket links, keeping past dates as proof of work.
  • Take a booking enquiry without the promoter hunting for your inbox.

What a station site does that a DJ site usually does not need: a persistent live player with now-playing metadata, a weekly schedule grid, several host profiles, dedications and requests, donations.

If you are… The sensible pick
A DJ with a residency, radio show or 24/7 stream A radio platform — live player, show page and schedule, with the mix archive in the podcast section
A DJ who plays out and needs a booking shopfront A generic builder or a one-page template; you are buying design and a contact form
A DJ collective running a channel A radio platform, with each member as a host profile and each show as a slot
A DJ who also sells music A generic builder with real e-commerce, or a radio platform plus a storefront link

If all you need is a one-page press kit, RadioSiteMaker is more than you need. If you broadcast at all, the live player, schedule, host profiles and podcast archive are what a generic builder makes you build by hand. The mobile app vs website guide is worth reading before spending anything on an app for a DJ brand.

See the Schedule Page in Every Theme

The schedule is the page listeners return to most on a station site, so it is the fairest test of a builder. Here it is on the demo station; use the theme chips to switch between all ten RadioSiteMaker themes.

The Real Cost of "Cheap"

Choose on total cost, not sticker price. The formula is: platform fee + hosting + plugins/add-ons + domain + your time + developer time. A cheap host plus a theme can cost more than a managed plan once renewals and your hours are counted. Our website cost calculator lets you put your own numbers in.

How to Choose

  1. Do I need radio-specific features? (Live player, schedule, DJ profiles, charts, dedications.) If yes, generic builders will frustrate you.
  2. Am I comfortable managing technical infrastructure? If not, skip WordPress and custom development.
  3. Am I staying with my stream host? If yes, price its website add-on against a standalone station builder.
  4. How quickly do I need to launch? A managed platform is live the day you sign up.
  5. Do I have unique requirements? Deep integration with proprietary systems may justify custom work.

Before you pick, check that your stream plays on the web with the radio stream tester. Our guide on how to create a radio station website walks through the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best DJ website builder?

It depends on whether you broadcast. A DJ who runs a show, a residency with a stream, or a channel with other DJs is better served by a radio platform, because the live player, schedule, host profiles and podcast archive come built in. A DJ who only needs a booking shopfront — bio, press photo, rider, gig list and contact form — can use any generic builder such as Wix or Squarespace.

Can I use a generic website builder like Wix for my radio station?

You can, but you will be working around it. Wix and Squarespace have no live radio player, show schedule, DJ profiles, charts or dedications built in, so you embed third-party widgets and build those pages by hand. For a talk-only station or a simple information site, that can be enough.

Does Squarespace still host podcasts?

Yes. Squarespace supports podcasts through a blog page, audio blocks and a built-in RSS feed. Audio blocks accept files up to 160 MB and a feed holds up to 300 episodes.

Is WordPress still a good choice for radio station websites?

Yes, if you are comfortable with the technical overhead. Pro.Radio gives you radio features out of the box, and you manage hosting, updates, security and plugins. See our WordPress vs RadioSiteMaker comparison.

Do Radio.co and RadioKing include a website?

Both sell one as an add-on: Radio.co's Weebly-powered Website Builder at $12 a month, and RadioKing's Radio Website at $468 / 408€ / £348 a year. RadioSiteMaker works with either stream for $99 a year + tax.

Can I switch from WordPress or Wix to RadioSiteMaker?

Yes. There is no automatic importer, so you copy show descriptions, DJ bios and posts across (podcasts can be imported from an RSS feed), then point your domain at the new site. Our WordPress migration guide covers the steps.

What is the best radio station website builder?

For most independent and community stations, a purpose-built platform wins on value: generic builders lack a live player, schedule and DJ profiles, and WordPress needs ongoing maintenance. RadioSiteMaker includes those radio features for $99 a year + tax. If you need full design freedom or deep custom integration, WordPress or custom development fits better.

How do I make my own radio station website?

Choose a platform, add your branding, connect your stream and publish. With RadioSiteMaker you sign up, go through the 10-step wizard (name, theme, stream, logo, sections, contact) and preview the site before publishing. A custom domain with SSL is included.
